The European Traffic Law Days have become established as a forum for professional training and the exchange of experience between traffic law experts. This event will take place for the ninth time. The congress will provide experts in liability and insurance law with an opportunity to obtain a comprehensive overview of current developments in European traffic law which are relevant to daily practice.
The following topics will be addressed at this year's event:
- The domicile of the injured party as a further place of jurisdiction in claims arising from traffic
accidents abroad (ECJ judgment in theOdenbreit case of 13 December 2007)
- Cross-border collection of fines by private companies authorised to do so by the state
- The management of serious personal injuries: Preparation of the working group for "Trier X"
- Compensation for property damage arising fromcross-border accidents: practical problems and challenges for evaluators

- The Commission's new initiative on road safety
